The JFGA is housed is an inspirational and state of the art coaching studio. It’s private, fully enclosed and equipped with up to date training aids, teaching software and hi speed cameras. It offers students the opportunity to talk in private with their coach, to get quality work done when the weather is bad and to review previous play or lessons. Mirrors and TV provide visual feedback to help the learning experience.
If you are more of a ‘feel’ player, there are a range of training aids to enhance the experience and make the message even clearer.
These offer an additional layer of learning for the student, and if necessary are employed during the lesson to enhance the experience. Their purpose is to make tuition simpler by giving a picture or a feel to various concepts within the game.
They range from purpose built wedges to objects used in other sports to help build pupil understanding by drawing simple comparisons. Many have been inspired by what is used to coach at the ‘tour’ level.
We have ‘C-swing’ video software and Casio Hi Speed slow motion camera available in the teaching bay and iPad and V1 Sports on the road. The JFGA has also been allowed unique access to the Biomechanics’ Suite (UUJ) which proved very beneficial for the players involved. The feedback has helped shape and support the technical development of the Contract Players.
In recent months, the JFGA has had access to Trackman technology which as added a deeper level of ball flight understanding and provided very accurate ‘club distance’ information for the players. During the last few years the JFGA has invested in and amassed a very extensive and unique bank of video footage. It has been compiled through many hours of research and it only available to JFGA students.
At Greenacres Golf Centre the JFGA can cater for every type of lesson because as well as building a dedicated coaching bay, it also has the use of a well kept short game area with a bunker, a putting green, a distance wedge range, the golf course and a grass practice tee.
